Stay up-to-date and manage your account on the go with text banking.1 Text message (SMS) and email alerts are offered frequently throughout the day to ensure you have current information on any eligible account. Plus, you can customize your alert preferences and add additional alert options.

Balance alerts can be sent any day of the week or:

  • Every Two Weeks
  • Monthly
  • Twice Monthly
  • Every 3 Months
  • Every 6 Months
  • Every Year

What You Will Need:

  • Your Summit Online Access username and password or account number and temporary Personal Identification Number (PIN) for initial online banking setup.
  • The Summit Online Access must be established in order to use the Text Message Banking service.

Getting Started:

  1. Login Information: Sign into your account at www.summitfcu.org by entering your username and password (or account number and temporary PIN for initial Summit Online Access setup).
  2. Hover your cursor over the “Additional Services” tab and select “Alerts & Notifications.”
  3. Set up Text Message Banking:
    1. Select “Text Message Banking”.
    2. Enter your cell phone number in the space provided.
    3. Select Your Primary Account: Select your primary account from the drop down menu under the section “The account I use most is”. When you text the word “BAL” or “LAST,” we will respond with your primary account balance or recent transactions.
    4. Select Transfer Source Account: Select your transfer source account from the drop down menu under the section “When low, transfer money from”.
    5. Click “Done”.
  4. Set up your phone:
    1. Enter your cell phone number in the space provided.
    2. To enroll in the service, select the box indicating you accept all Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept the Terms and Conditions you will not be able to register for Text Message Banking.
    3. Enter the code that was text messaged to you, and then select “Next.”
  5. Finalize Set up on your Phone:
    1. Enter the code that was text messaged to you.
    2. To enroll in the service, click “Accept” to agree to the terms and conditions. If you do not accept the Terms and Conditions you will not be able to register for Text Message Banking.
  6. Select Transfer Source Account: Select your transfer source account from the dropdown menu. When you text us the word “TRANS” followed by an amount, we will transfer money from your source account to your primary account.
  7. SMS Alerts: Choose what alerts you would like to receive. You can change the alerted amount for balances, payments, and deposits. After choosing your alerts, select “Finish.” A new window will appear confirming your phone number has been activated for text message banking.

Resources and information

We never send confidential information such as user IDs, passwords or complete account numbers via Text Message Banking.
